Dr Andrea Prior
MBBS, FRACGP, DCH, DipDerm, DRCOG
I qualified from University College London in 2000, and knew very early on in my career that I wanted to be a GP.
What I love about being a GP is the ability to offer holistic care to my patients with a focus on mental and preventative health for the whole family. Being a patient’s advocate and companion through some of the best and some of the hardest times in their lives is a true privilege. I enjoy the diversity of general practice but am particularly interested in dermatology having spent many years working in this field in the UK. More recently I have specialized in cosmetic dermatology. I also have a keen interest in Women’s and Children’s health.
In my private life I enjoy spending time with my husband and young children on our small farm.
Special interests include:
- Dermatology
- Women’s and Children’s health
- Antenatal shared care
- Minor surgical procedures including Implanon insertion and removal and Mirena insertions.

I graduated from The Australian National University Medical School, Canberra, in 2018. I have also completed an undergraduate degree in Exercise Physiology though The University of South Australia, which I completed in 2014.
I was drawn to the diversity and complexity of general practice. I particularly enjoy the continuity of care that it allows and the challenges that come with coordinating the many facets of health care. It is a privilege to be there for both the good and bad times in patients’ lives and I hope to help my patients to get the best out of their lives and health.
Whilst I enjoy dealing with a wide variety of conditions, I hold a particular interest in musculoskeletal medicine and sporting injuries, and am team doctor for the West Adelaide SANFL teams this year. I also have a keen interest in women’s and children’s health.
Outside of medicine I enjoy being involved with sports, especially football (soccer). I enjoy spending time with my partner and our 2 cats. We also have a turtle called Arnold.

I qualified from the Peninsula Medical School UK in 2009 and came to Australia in 2017. I joined The Rowley Road Clinic in 2018 as I shared their vision to provide a high-quality service.
I was drawn to a career in medicine by an appreciation of the diversity of communities and the opportunity to make a career out of helping others. As doctors, we endeavour to offer compassion without judgement and to have a benevolent influence on the world around us.
I enjoy my work as a generalist and chose general practice because of the intellectual variety and human contact that it brings. My particular areas of interest include complex medical patients and chronic disease management.
In the modern world, it is increasingly possible for our patients to educate themselves and to take responsibility for the direction of their own medical care. I pride myself on respecting the decisions of others, in achieving a shared understanding of their issues (both medical and non-medical) and working together to think through problems. My aim is to help you take control of your health.
In my free time, I enjoy fishing, low and slow BBQ and spending time with my long-suffering wife and our mischievous children.

I graduated from The University of Melbourne in 2005 and received my Fellowship of the RACGP in 2012. All of my training has been in rural sites, and recently I have worked in Goolwa for several years.
I practice comprehensive medicine, and enjoy managing complex chronic conditions as well as women’s health, mental health and diabetes.
I love General Practice where I can contribute to a person’s health in so many ways. I enjoy the continuity of care where I can follow up and continue to improve my patient’s quality of life over time. I love the challenge of coordinating and managing my patient’s journey through the health system, specialist appointments and helping them to get the best out of their lives.
I live on a farm with my husband and two children, who keep me busy. I enjoy working in my garden and playing the violin in a local orchestra.
